Dr. Siripong Malasri is a professor of civil and environmental engineering at CBU. He received his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Tennessee. His background includes construction management, structural engineering, solid mechanics, material testing, artificial intelligence, and optimization. He has published widely in various artificial intelligence related topics.

Dr. Malasri was instrumental to the establishment of the packaging engineering program at CBU during his term as engineering dean from 1999-2005. He has worked closely with several individuals to secure funding from various sources to support the packaging program, including the Medtronic Foundation, International Paper Foundation, and the Assisi Foundation of Memphis. He was on the editorial boards for International Journal of Engineering Education and Journal of Professional Issues in Engineering Education and Practice. Dr. Malasri is a member of the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP), the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He was recognized as the 2004 Outstanding Engineer of the Year by the Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers at both chapter and state levels. He was also named the recipient of the 2006 Award of Excellence from the Memphis-Area Joint Engineers Council. In fall of 2006 he was named the Douglass J. Thomas Chair in Engineering by Christian Brothers University.
